The White-crowned Sparrow is common throughout North America, from northern Alaska to central Mexico. But here in Florida, it’s a rarity. This one was photographed recently at the Marjorie Hoy Memorial Park at Orange Lake Overlook. This scenic location (the windmill hill on Highway 441 just south of McIntosh) is now managed by the Alachua Conservation Trust and has become a birding hotspot.
